General Education Development (GED) Testing
The Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) offers General Education
Development (GED) testing. The GED diploma qualifies adults to enter college and
to meet job requirements.
The GED test consists of five tests: science, writing skills, social studies,
reading, and mathematics. Each test is available in English and Spanish. All
questions are multiple choice, except for the writing skills test, which
requires an essay. GED applicants must receive a score of 410 or better on each
test and an average standard score of 450 in order to pass.
Arrangements to test individuals needing special accommodations can be made by calling (408) 453-6886 during
our office hours. Please see calendar below for office hours. These hours are subject to change, so please check
calendar frequently and call ahead to verify office hours.
